Meet some of the team at St Mark's...
We have a lot going on at St Mark's, so we rely on a dedicated team of ministers and volunteers to make things happen!
Here are some of the team and what they get up to at St Mark's:
Priest in Charge: Rev'd Canon Dr Rae Caro
Rev'd Rae was licensed as Priest in Charge here in June 2021. She has particular interest in Mission, ministry with those who have experienced trauma, and women of the Bible. As well as being our Priest in Charge, she is Mission Enabler for New Estates in Tynemouth Deanery, Chair of the Diocesan Estates and Urban Group, and a non-residentiary Canon of Newcastle Cathedral. In 2024 she co-authored the Clergy Babies Maternity Leave Audit, pushing for fairness and transparency in clergy maternity pay and conditions.
Church Warden: Clive Johnson
Church Warden and Safeguarding Officer: Paul Robson
Paul is an experienced safeguarding lead. Please speak to him if you have any concerns about a child or vulnerable adult.
Sacristan: Alice McNab
Alice looks after the sacristy and makes sure that everything is ready for services at St Mark's. She also runs our dedicated team of altar servers, as well as being a leader at the regular Tuesday lunch club in the church hall.
